My art practice is rooted in my experience as a Vietnamese American and centers on themes of cultural identity, memory, and personal history. Through my work, I reflect on how heritage and lived experience shape my relationship to place, culture, and the environment. The spaces I move through and the cultural influences that surround me play an important role in how I understand and express identity.
Although I am formally trained as a printmaker, my practice extends across multiple mediums. I am particularly drawn to oil painting for its physicality and responsiveness, which allows me to work slowly, build layers, and create depth over time. This process gives me space to reflect while engaging with the natural world, often incorporating techniques and ideas rooted in printmaking.
Much of my work explores the quiet beauty and symbolism of nature alongside my cultural background. I aim to create imagery that feels true and personal that captures moments that are calm, honest, and reflective of the in-between of memory, place, and identity.
